The emblem 's "Elephant  Shaved Mountain: Khao Chang" and "Tin Dredger " represent historical and natural assets of Phang Nga. Elephant shaved mountain or Mount elephant stretches gracefully behind the provincial office and together with other limestone ranges acted as natural defensive wall to protect the early settlers from the attacking Burmese army. This mountain wall,  Phang Nga river and its fertile land, and rich tin ore resource constituted the main platforms for the early development of Phang Nga which later expanded flourishly into a healthy and peaceful establishment of today.
