Mangrove Forests in Thailand

ป่าชายเลนในประเทศไทยมีพื้นที่ประมาณ 1,458,000 ไร่ (2,332 ตร.กม.) (สำรวจเมื่อ         พ.ศ. 2547) โดยร้อยละ 74 อยู่ในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ฝั่งทะเลอันดามัน คิดเป็นพื้นที่ประมาณ 1,085,000 ไร่ (1,736 ตร.กม.) ส่วนที่เหลือพบกระจายอยู่ในภาคใต้ฝั่งอ่าวไทย ภาคตะวันออก และภาคกลาง (อ่าวไทยตอนบน)

estimated area of  results, mangrove forests in Thailand cover an estimated 
area of 1,458,000 Rai (2,332 square kilometers). Of the figure, about 1,085,000 Rai (1,736 square
kilometers) are on the shoreline of the Andaman coast, and the rest are scattered along the Gulf of Thailand 
shorelines extending from the South up to Eastern, and Central coastlines (Upper Gulf of Thailand)
